The angels are constantly communicating with you and their mission is to help make your life easier, more joyful and less stressful. They are wildly crazy about you and love helping you. Many of the ways they leave signs for us is through feathers, pennies, rainbows and butterflies.
But, did you know that one of the easiest way to cut through the mental chatter and get message directly to your soul is through cards?
Why? Because cards have images and illustrations that speak to our psyche. It was our first language when we were young. Long before language, we spoke pictures. And as the old saying goes, a picture is worth a thousand words.
A little background
Years ago when I was still working in the corporate world as a facilitator I remember vividly trying to do readings for myself and not always understanding what I was doing. I would page through the leaflet or booklet included in my old-school Tarot deck hoping for more clarity. Sometimes it would make sense. Often times it did not.
The yearning for more clarity, more understanding always stayed with me. The teacher in me always wanted something more user-friendly and understandable. And quite honestly, not so harsh. That never went away.
When I found the world of Angel Oracle and Tarot cards it all made sense to me. The images and symbols unlocked a remembering in me that I believe came in on a soul level.
I stopped using any types of booklets because I simply didn’t need them. I allowed the card messages to tell the story.
Thus began my journey to reading professionally for others that has been an absolute honor and blessing.
How is Tarot different from Oracle Cards?
Tarot differs from Oracle decks in that there is a set structure. Tarot always has 78 cards. Always. If there is any differentiation in numbers at all, it is considered an Oracle deck rather than Tarot.
There are five suits in a Tarot deck consisting of the Major Arcana and Minor Arcana. The Major Arcana has 22 cards and these are considered to be bigger messages that you need to pay attention to. Rightfully so since the word Arcana means “mysteries or secrets.”
I personally do not feel the messages are meant to be secretive or mysterious to us, per se. I do think they are open to those who are ready. When the timing is right. Then the knowledge, wisdom and teachings open up like a book.
The Minor Arcana has 56 cards and comprises four distinct suits. In the older traditional decks these are Pentacles, Swords, Cups and Wands. The Angel inspired decks use the elements to represent these symbols: Earth, Air, Water and Fire.
Each suit has a specific realm of our human psyche or experience that it governs. For example,
The suit of Earth represents our connection to the material and physical world. The aspects of schooling, jobs, money, time, housing, financial planning, etc…
Air represents our connection to logic, rationale, truth, legal matters, fairness, justice, integrity, handling challenging information and decisions made through the mind. Air can also showcase our relationship to fear, anxiety, worry, attachments and the like.
The suit of Water is symbolic of the inner journey. This governs our love life, family matters, matters of the heart, poetry, the arts, the humanities, inner exploration, intuitive and psychic abilities.
The Fire element governs creativity, renewed passion for life, exciting career moves or moving into a career that lights you up, connection to energy reserves and movement.
What I find fascinating and intriguing is the uncanny ability for the cards to speak directly to the psyche. They connect on the archetypal, symbolic level.
And as a historian and lover of ancient cultures and civilizations, I find myself drawn to connecting the dots.
Ancient people’s had a very deep understanding of the Earth, the stars, the seasons, medicine, healing, mathematics, engineering, edible plants and herbs as well as the ability to see patterns of human nature.
Because they did not live in the day and age that we do, with cell phones and wireless communication, they relied solely on their intuition.
They were incredibly tapped into this inner guidance system - in ways I’m not sure any of us can truly grasp. They didn’t have the nagging factor of doubting guidance that is pervasive in present times. Their sole existence relied heavily on intuition and following what they felt or saw.
The Angel Tarot cards, I feel, speak beautifully to this archetypal understanding of the human psyche. The cards paint the picture, if you will, of the soul’s journey. The path inwards, the deeper language of truth.
When people come to me for a reading they realize they are not able to see their life unbiased. They have a knowing that there is a message they need to hear. There is a sign somewhere that’s waiting to be acknowledged, but they are simply too close to their own life to know how to decipher the signs.
I see archetypes. I see symbols. I see pictures. I see a story. And this tells me what I need to share with the client. With the Angels, it will always be words and images of encouragement and support.
The Angels point out to me, through the use of symbols and messages, what the client most needs to hear and what they most need to know. Often times I receive additional information downloaded from the Divine realm that I share.
Why does it work?
The truth is the Divine realm consisting of angels, guides and other celestial beings are always around us. Far too often we simply can’t hear, see or feel the guidance. We are just too caught up in our thoughts. The day to day is a blur.
The Angel Tarot cards cut through all this. It’s literally a telephone directly to Heavenly support and guidance. The line is always open for you.
What frequently happens is that people get confused by the information they receive. Perhaps they ask a question about romance and the cards that come up all have to do with business and education.
Often what happens is people think the reading isn’t right. They may reshuffle and ask again (which by the way doesn’t work as you will just get more jumbled results.) Or, they think the cards are off. They don’t work.
Three items are most likely at play when you get confusing guidance.
The question you asked came in from victim based thinking:
Why is this happening to me? Is this situation ever going to end? Will I ever find true love? Why is the person so mean to me? (Sidenote: if you ask from this perspective you end up calling in the Trickster archetype who will then hijack all of your readings by adding confusion.)You are overly fixated on wanting a specific answer.
Remember, you are always receiving guidance. The business and education cards coming up simply mean that’s where you need to be putting your time and energy at this moment. Romance will come in, but not when you are fixated on it. Refocus on building up your own story and creations. Fall in love with your own life.You are not ready to receive the message.
Simply put, you do not want to hear what the angels have to say. Believe me, I’ve seen this happen repeatedly. The changes and guidance you are getting from the Divine is something you would rather ignore. You feel that it would be too hard or complicated to follow so it’s disregarded altogether.
Remember, the Angels have your highest good in mind. They want to help you become the beautiful, peaceful and joyful person you long to be. When you reach out and ask for guidance and help they answer. Always.
Be open to the messages you receive. Guidance from the angels is reassuring, kind, supportive and gentle. They may very well encourage you to see your life differently.
This is okay. This is very okay. Angel guidance is aligned towards the path of least resistance and maximum soul fulfillment. You may need to make some changes. Even if you feel you cannot do them, ask the angels to help you.
Ask them to give you strength. To give you courage. To give you the energy and stamina to say yes. And, guess what? They will. You are not alone. You are supported every step of the way.
