Now more than ever people are asking heart-based questions. I personally find it fascinating because we are living in a day and age that our ancestors may never dreamed of living. We have the time and resources to actually think more deeply about the questions such as, Why am I here? What am I really meant to be doing? How can I help serve others?
We no longer have to just work for the sake of work. It's more common to find ourselves in the dilemma of feeling we are talented in a number of areas, yet feeling conflicted because we were told since childhood to choose “one thing.” And that “thing” will be your lifelong path.
Is it any wonder our heart’s feel so conflicted and heavy? We’ve been told to fit in a box when, in reality, we were born with wings and meant to fly. Yet, it’s challenging to find someone who reminds us we have wings and shows us how to fly.
I’ve found that this very dilemma is what draws people to angel readings. They want to receive illuminating answers from the gentle, kind and unconditionally loving angelic realm.
Why? Because the guidance comes without judgement, is in the recipients highest and best good, and offers beautiful solutions of hope, peace of mind and a way forward. None of this is done in the pushy way often identified with the ego’s incessant and judgmental chatter.
What is My Purpose? is a beautiful inquiry of the soul. A living question. The number one question that encourages us to keep expanding, keep seeking, keep walking.
It’s as if deep inside we know that a question of this magnitude needs celestial guidance, not chatter from a small ego mind.
Many of us have been in this very predicament where we feel a calling from the soul, but we simply don’t know what to do about it. It feels too big. Too daunting.
It goes something like this:
We are going about our daily life and then we feel the ping inside. It’s subtle, but it’s there. We begin to see life differently. It’s hard to explain to others, let alone ourselves.
Our internal inquiry starts to sound like this: I know there's more to me than this. My life is okay and I'm pretty good at going through the motions, but it's just not fulfilling anymore. I guess if I'm honest it never has been that fulfilling, it's just that I don't know what to else to do. I want change, yet I really need certainty. I need to be shown a map because I don’t know what to do next. I need help. I need a miracle. Help me, angels.
As an angel communicator and I see, hear and know guidance.
Readings are always held in a container of sacred space, meaning the information is a bond between the recipient and the angelic realm. Often, I don’t even remember what the messages were that came through, and if I do I don’t share them with anyone.
With that being said, there are patterns and commonalities I hear from people that I’d like to share with you in the hopes that you don’t feel alone. See if you happen to relate to any of the following:
I am good at a lot of things, but what am I really suppose to be doing?
I wish I knew the ONE thing I need to be doing to fill my Life Purpose. It's so confusing.
I feel like I'm wasting my time at my job or in my everyday life. I need to be doing something bigger to help out in the world. Can the angels help me?
I’ve often felt like there’s another life I’m supposed to be living, like a phantom life that I was denied, what if I’ve missed out?
Career vs Purpose
Career and purpose are often mixed up and that can add to our confusion. By definition career is a job or vocation that you choose to work at that is fulfilling on many levels and brings in a paycheck. Life purpose, according to the angels, is simply to be happy. Be a joy being. Spread light and love to others as well as yourself. It’s not a job title, a business card or the clothes you wear. It’s a way of being.
What?!
That's right. Thus, the paradox. When we feel that career and life purpose need to be the same it can cause a lot of unneeded stress. Many folks feel they have missed the boat, are too old, or there simply isn't enough time in the day to do what they really want to do.
Reality Check
Many of us were told to follow the money. Success is being better than other people, having a big house, fancy car and expensive vacations. Nobody really likes their job, that’s what retirement is for so just “suck it up” because work is simply a means to an ends. You can’t have it all.
Yikes!
This is pretty heavy, shame-based thinking, and if you really stop and reflect on the well-meaning, yet, unhelpful message handed down you can see that it’s an incomplete story.
The truth is there’s more to the story. As humans our lives are multi-layered and complicated. There simply isn’t a one-size-fits all answer.
That said, it’s time to ease up on thinking that your daily work needs to fill all your spiritual and vocational needs. Because, let's be honest, that is a very tall order indeed!
Put another way: Can you let yourself off the hook?
The angels are joyful beings and they want us to enjoy our lives. By cultivating a loving mindset of easing up it allows us to think about what we can gently add into our day to expand our happiness quota.
Pondering this call to action really is more about taking control of your own happiness. Instead of seeing life in black and white, it allows for technicolor vision.
If you begin to view life with adding more pizazz and spice to it, what would you do?
How can you cultivate a more joyful mindset?
Are you wanting to travel and add adventure to your life?
How about signing up for that evening course or special interest class you've been wanting to take, but you keep talking yourself out of?
Do you want to take up Salsa dancing or the Argentine Tango?
How about that gardening class or floral arranging weekend workshop that keeps whispering to you?
Theater? You could take a class without the expectation of performing. Just do it for the fun of it.
Expressing joy is your birthright
Now, just to be clear the angels are not saying the career/life purpose combination can't happen. It most certainly can and for some folks it does. However, many of us have opted for a wide range of experiences. True success and purpose is about connection with others, collaboration with the Divine, and saying a Sacred Yes to opportunities that seem to show up out of the blue.
It has to do with our natural affinity and desire for wanting more out of life. According to the angelic realm, to achieve balance in our life it’s important to stay grounded and rooted in our daily life and reach for the stars.
A few years ago I was fortunate enough to visit Clos de Luce in Amboise, France. This was the final residence of Leonardo Da Vinci. He was gifted a beautiful chateau and gardens by Francois I to invent, experiment and create to his heart's content.
Painting was just one aspect in his multi-faceted life. He loved science, anatomy, botany, experimenting, engineering, humanity, animals, flowers and watching birds fly. In fact, Da Vinci was still working and designing an early prototype of a helicopter up until his final days.
Da Vinci’s passion for life is fascinating. Even 500 years ago he was not restricted by limiting thoughts. His paintings paid the bills and became what he was most known for; however, his love of creative thinking in many, many areas of life is what he is widely known for today.
It certainly begs the question of each of us: What else could I be doing or dabbling in that would fulfill my many creative outlets? Why restrict myself to just one or two areas? What if the sky really is the limit?
